If you have not discovered Skype yet. Do yourself a big
favor and get Skype. It is free and will allow you to
use your computer to make voice or video calls, and transfer
files, web conference among other tools all free. I would
not want to compete with Skype. They have over 240 million
registered users, and add 100,000 new users monthly.
Skype has a low cost, paid feature for business use
too, which adds even more features. And the quality,
even for the live video was good. Use link below to get
Skype.
If you don't have a web cam yet. Use to save $10 at Shop.com they have the best
prices for things like web cams. If you have a digital
video camera collecting dust in a closet and you are
ok with dedicating it to your computer then skip the web
cam and use the camcorder, you will have much better video
quality. The web cam is the simplest option but make sure
you get the best web cam you can afford. One last
point, if you want to use a virtual set as your background
you may be dissapointed with a web cam. I had a very tough
time setting up chroma key green screen settings using a
web cam. With a camcorder green screen virtual settings
were fast and easy. For more details see case studies.
A Growing Business Idea
Here is a great business to be in as internet video
segment grows. Virtual sets. Like the one I use for almost
all my videos. Since I record from my home studio office. A
virtual set is great. Never gets dirty or needs to be put away
and it uses no space. Here are two options either get
Visual Communicator
version 3 just out Oct. 2007 (what I use) or shop for a set
at Virtual Set Works.
