Imagemind

The Good

After downloading an icon you have instant access to send video mail. Videoexpressemail.com by Imagemind.com is a great free service. Very easy to use and understand. Imagemind has been around since 1997, so they have had some time to think about their service. I think Imagemind has been waiting for the rest of the world to catch up. They offer other services for a fee, like video mail campaigns and branding of your videomail player. Using a free account, I was allowed to include a graphic picture or logo, and personalize the area around my video player. And you can work out a deal where they will tailor the player to your business brand. There were no banner ads running around my video message. Imagemind also let me click a box to get a notification that my video was watched. And with Videoexpressemail, I knew when and who watched my video message based on the email address. This is important because if you send out an identical video mail message to seven different people, and then later you get notifications showing that 5 of 7 people watched your video, without knowing the email addresses, you don't know which 5 people saw your video message. With the better notification systems you know who watched your video because you see the email addresses. Another clever feature, is "import video". This feature allowed me to upload one of my prerecorded videos encode it and email it out. Hopefully later they will offer an append feature where I can attach a new video to a prerecorded video and send it as one video mail. I also liked that their system remembers you, so you don't need to keep login in again.

The Bad

There is no way yet to get the code of your video message to embed into a web page or favorite email account, although this feature is coming soon. There is no way to disable a video that was sent. I was able to use their import feature and import one of my existing videos and send it, but there were some little glitches, like an IE error that closed down the IE browser. Although to be fair I can't say that it was IE or Videoexpressemail.com.
